LaPresse is a media company which, since the beginning, has invested in multimedia, integrating excellent products and services for the benefit of publishers and broadcasters. Due to the privileged relationships we have with them, we can also extend such services to companies and institutions.
Today, LaPresse has become the main Italian entrepreneurial multimedia news agency. It produces news in the form of texts, photos and videos, 24/7, in real time, 365 days a year, and supplies its content to over 90% of the entire publishing and broadcast market in Italy.
It is the exclusive Italian partner of Associated Press, the content of which it distributes over Italy. A bilateral agreement supplies back to AP the text and photographic content of LaPresse for broadcasting all over the world through AP’s internal circuits.
LaPresse is a television production company for thematic channels, news programs and information and entertainment programs.
It is a press office specialized in image-management for newspapers, television channels and formats and entertainment and culture events, operating as a media relations facilitator, supporting companies in the creation of multimedia content and their broadcasting to the many media.
It is a management agency, acting on behalf of artists, authors, directors, photographers and journalists.
An international nature, entrepreneurial ability, technological innovation, flexibility and eagerness to listening, are all aspects which translate into a strong eagerness for creating increasingly profiled tools and services, based on the actual needs of the interlocutors, with ongoing investments in human resources, technologies and infrastructures.
This is because each goal we reach is a new starting point, for a path of constant improvement, for always giving our very best.
Born in Turin in the 1930s as Publifoto Torino the agency marked the birth of photojournalism in Italy, thanks to the initiative and talent of our great early Italian photojournalists: besides Silvio Durante himself, also Fedele Toscani, father of Oliviero, Vincenzo Carrese, Silvio Maresca.. This new media rose on the backdrop of a period of Italian rebirth: politics, economy, industry, culture and current affairs were given news coverage through the use of images, documenting and great scoops.
This approach captured the attention of the great newspapers of the time, such as the “Corriere all’Europeo” by Arrigo Benedetti and “Oggi” by Edilio Rusconi, and they immediately made it a point of reference for the supply of topical photos.
The agency grew, and soon turned into an entrepreneurial organization, with an ever wider and more extensive network of photographers.
In the 1990s current president Marco Durante acquired the historical archives of his father Silvio’s Publifoto Torino, and together with his brother Massimo founded LaPresse, marking an important acceleration in the development and diversification of the agency’s activities. The effect was to turn the photo agency into one of the most dynamic and innovative companies within Italy’s information and media landscape.
In addition to the by-then established photo reporting activity, video news was introduced, in order to document events via an increasingly in-demand form of communication. Progressively, an integrated system of professionalism and skills was created, dedicated to industrial photography, historical archives, image coordination, brands’ visual enhancement through both photo and video. The result was a service platform shaped by the needs of a constantly changing market.
In 2010, with the agreement of the Associated Press exclusive distribution rights in Italy of the American agency’s content, LaPresse officially qualifiedas a press agency, completing its bouquet of information services with news and written contributions, from both Italy and abroad.
Today LaPresse boasts eight offices in Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Florence, Verona, Trieste and Brussels and over 50 journalists and correspondents under the direction of Vittorio Oreggia. It is the go-to multimedia content provider for many publishers, broadcast stations, companies and institutions, offering a high-quality, complete, authoritative and expeditious service.
LaPresse has also been established as the most international of all Italian multimedia content providers, with its renewed exclusive partnership (from January 1st, 2020) with Associated Press. Besides guaranteeing textual, photographic and video content from abroad, this agreement in turn gives maximum international syndication to Italian news, providing what we can only describe as the best opportunity for global visibility.
